The Gorges du Tarn et des Causses region is an exceptional area to discover all year round: right in the heart of the Grand Site des Gorges du Tarn, de la Jonte et des Causses, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011, at the gateway to the Parc National des Cévennes and the Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses!



The Gorges du Tarn, the Grands Causses and the Cévennes are a vast area of freedom where nature lovers can enjoy a wide range of activities.Professional instructors supervise these activities for beginners and the more experienced, so don't hesitate to contact them.


  • Caving: The Grands Causses and Gorges region has a large number of caves for you to explore with professionals. They'll help you read these well-hidden landscapes. Caving is for everyone.
  • Canyoning: Slide, slide, jump into pools or potholes, abseil down waterfalls...
  • Canoeing and kayaking: You can go down the Tarn from April to October.
  • Climbing: The Gorges du Tarn et de la Jonte offer two great climbing sites.
  • Via Ferrata, Via Corda: Via ferrata are rocky routes equipped with cables, rungs, a monkey bridge and aerial and sometimes acrobatic footbridges.
  • Parcours acrobatique en forêt (acrobatic forest course): This is a fixed course laid out in the trees: zip lines, monkey bridges, movable beams, net passages, tunnels, crossings, zig-zags, tunnels....
  • Paragliding: What could be better than taking off from the edge of the causse and plunging down into the valley suspended from a sail and, for a moment, simply flying!
  • Horse-riding: Lozère is a real equestrian paradise. Both the diversity of the terrain, which is suitable for all levels, and the variety of the landscapes make our region a unique place to ride.
  • Fishing: The Tarn is a top category river.
